Leadership Coach
A servant leader with close to four decades of experience in urban and suburban education, Dr. Monica J. Taylor recently retired from her position as Assistant Superintendent in the Hatboro-Horsham School District located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. She currently serves as an adjunct professor in the Graduate School of Education at Arcadia University, located in Glenside, PA.
An active participant in many national and local educational, professional, and service organizations in the region, Dr. Taylor is a member of several governing boards including the Philadelphia Area Leadership Council of the UNCF. Recognizing the need to continuously refine, expand, and improve through an integration of theory, action research, and practical experiences; Dr. Taylor collaborates with several educational entities including the Penn Graduate School of Education; Excellence and Equity Coalition. She was recognized with the Dr. Norman K. Miller Scholarship for Educational Leadership from Arcadia University in 2013. For four consecutive years beginning in 2016, Dr. Taylor was named one of Philadelphia’s Most Influential African Americans by The Philadelphia Tribune. In 2018, she was named recipient of the Leonard C. Ferguson Youth Advocate Award by College Settlement.
Dr Taylor earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from West Chester University; a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from the Pennsylvania State University; and an Ed.D. from Arcadia University.
