Leadership Coach
Amy Hollister is a Philadelphia native and has been a well known professional in the local public education sector for the past 25 years. She is a graduate of Bloomsburg University, Temple University, and the University of Pennsylvania.
Following her beginning years as a special education teacher in Hawaii, Amy came home to further hone her teaching skills and leadership potential in her hometown city. She is most proud of her fifteen years as the founder and CEO of Northwood Academy Charter School. There she led a staff and a student body of 900 to achieve well rounded successes and academic achievement.
Beyond direct school leadership, Amy has been a University Mentor at UPenn’s GSE School Leadership Program for the past decade. In this role, she has directly supported aspiring instructional leaders through their internships and PDE credentialing requirements. It is here that she finds her experience in the classroom and administrative roles culminates in authentic relational connections and professional support systems. She has also joined the Advisory Council and looks forward to further developing the program with other key leaders.
Amy has also been instrumental in the shared development and sustainability of the non-profit advocacy membership group Philadelphia Charters for Excellence (PCE). Most recently, she has become the Director for their 80 members schools in leadership development, authorizing initiatives and membership services. In this role, she is partnered with the Philadelphia Talent Coalition and works with city and state leaders to attract and retain educators for all schools.
Amy resides in Abington, PA and is the mother of three active teenagers. Her husband is a School District of Philadelphia school teacher and together they are proud public school advocates.
