Professional Learning Facilitator
Mimi Jara has taught Social Studies at Upper Darby High School for over 20 years. She has also worked as an Instructional Coach for the past seven years. Her journey in education has been defined by a deep love for teaching and a commitment to nurturing the academic growth of diverse student populations, particularly those learning English as a second language and students with disabilities. She is deeply committed to engaging each student at their level, sparking their curiosity, and expanding their knowledge. She aims to establish inclusive learning environments conducive to every student’s success by providing personalized instruction tailored to their needs.
Beyond the confines of the classroom, she is equally enthusiastic about assisting fellow educators in addressing the diverse needs of their students. As an Instructional Coach, she collaborated with teachers to devise strategies that enhance student participation and accomplishments. Whether through mentoring, workshops, or curriculum enhancement, her focus is on equipping teachers with the necessary tools and expertise to effectively guide their students through their educational paths.
Mimi obtained her bachelor’s degree from LaSalle University in Secondary Education/History and later earned her master’s degree in Education Leadership at Immaculata University. She currently resides in Conshohocken with her husband, Greg, and son Gabriel.
